About the Founder

Lauren White

Lauren’s passion for gardening, nature, community, and getting her hands in the dirt is at the foundation of Bay View Flower Farm. In her first career, she was a pediatric nurse practitioner and medical director for 15 years. While she loved her time with patients and the advocacy involved in her work, she found herself increasingly frustrated with the inequities of the American healthcare system and also profoundly concerned about the level of burnout in healthcare.

The Dahlias and More

The Start of the Farm

After the birth of her second child, she took a professional break to slow down, spend time with her family, and reconsider her career path moving forward. In doing so, she discovered a love of gardening and, more specifically, of growing dahlias (it is truly addictive). She enrolled in high level flower business training courses through Floret and Muddy Business, began growing specialty flowers in her backyard, and has been working towards launching a flower farm ever since.

Our Adventure

Healing Power of Flowers

Bay View Flower Farm was born of a desire to continue growing, to build a business and space that allowed her children to run wild and explore, to facilitate community building and kindness during an era of loneliness and division, and - above all - to bring folks together to appreciate the beauty and natural healing power of flowers.
